D. Nathaniel Clarke is pursuing research focused upon determining
how some of the earliest life forms evolved in the Earth's ancient
oceans. Specifically the cell biology of living descendants of the
Metazoans (sponges and cnidarians). Nat is working on experiements
to identify the gene in sponges and anemones responsible for cell
adhesion.
